Offering Our Ears to the Lord

This powerful message invites us to examine a profound question: have we offered our ears to God as living sacrifices? Drawing from Romans 12 and the ancient practice of ear-piercing described in Exodus, we're challenged to consider whether we've truly committed ourselves as willing servants of Christ. The sermon explores three critical spiritual ear problems that plague believers and seekers alike: dull ears that barely hear God's voice, complete deafness to spiritual truth, and perhaps most dangerous for the church today, itching ears that seek only messages that confirm our own desires. Through Stephen's martyrdom in Acts 7 and Jesus's warnings about those who have ears but do not hear, we see the tragic consequences of hardened hearts that refuse to receive truth. Yet there's hope: Jesus can heal our spiritual hearing, commanding our ears to be open just as He did for the physically deaf. The call is clear—we must move beyond merely hearing God's Word to actually doing it, becoming compliant sons and daughters who don't just say 'yes' but follow through with obedient action. This isn't about religious obligation but about a love relationship with our Master so deep that we willingly choose permanent servitude, asking Him to pierce our ears as a sign of lifelong devotion.
